Gunnar Nylund Vase

This lively work of Swedish Modernist design is the ‘ARL' handle vase by the pottery master Gunnar Nylund (1904–1997) for Rörstrand, produced in the 1950s-60s.

The vase is made out of stoneware and finished in vibrant blue hares fur glaze. Wonderfully shaped, simple yet elegant, with intricately applied glaze. It was decorated by hand, giving it a unique touch. Stilistically timeless and contemporary, this work is an outstanding example of Scandinavian mid-century Modern pottery design.
