Terracotta Sculpture by Birgit Wiberg-Stefelt

A terracotta portrait of a young child by Swedish artist Birgit Wiberg-Stefelt (1915–2002), created circa 1950s. Modelled with a raw, expressive touch, the sculpture conveys both intimacy and quiet confidence. Trained in Stockholm and Paris, Wiberg-Stefelt is now largely forgotten, though she exhibited widely across Sweden and is represented in several public collections, including the Supreme Court in Stockholm.
