Handcrafted earthenware pitcher by Andersson & Johansson, Höganäs, Sweden, 1940s. The bulbous body, angled spout and squared handle give it a sculptural edge that sets it apart from more polished studio ceramics of the era. Rough surface texture beneath a semi-gloss cream glaze, with terracotta showing through. A characterful piece that sits beautifully between art object and functional form.
