Carl Riise (1920-2016) was a prominent Swedish painter and illustrator who studied at Stockholm's Royal Academy of Fine Arts (1939-1946). After his studies, he traveled extensively through France, Morocco, and Spain, which influenced his artistic development. From 1952-1985, he taught at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. His work is represented in several prestigious collections including the National Museum, Museum of Modern Art Stockholm, and the Institut Tessin in Paris.
