Large Wooden Sculpture, 2007

"Familjebild" (Family Portrait) is a large wooden sculpture standing 52 cm tall, hand-carved from a single piece of pine. Dated 2007 and signed by Jean-Maurice Steiner of Sweden – an artist who remains otherwise unknown.

This work transforms raw wood into abstracted human and animal figures gathered in intimate familial connection, their forms flowing together through smooth contours and carved hollow spaces.

From every angle, the sculpture reveals something new. Curves and rounded forms invite both eyes and hands to explore, each perspective offering fresh details. Over time, the pine's natural grain and warm honey-amber tones have deepened into a rich patina.

• Condition: Good vintage condition with natural patina throughout. One visible split in the wood is present, consistent with the natural aging process of wood. The piece remains structurally sound and displays well from all angles.
