A rare small bronze by Swedish sculptor Tore Strindberg (1882–1968), depicting a nude female figure reaching gracefully toward a bird perched on her fingertips. Cast in the elegant, naturalistic style characteristic of Strindberg's early 20th-century work, it stands on a turned wooden pedestal.
Marked with the artist's monogram "T.S" to the base.
About the Artist
Tore Strindberg (1882–1968) was a Swedish sculptor and medalist, born in Stockholm, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and trained under medalist Adolf Lindberg at the Royal Mint. He is best known for his bronze sculptures in the classical realist style of the 1920s and 1930s, and is considered an important representative of Art Deco sculpture in Sweden, closely associated with the Swedish Grace movement of the era.
