Art Deco Tobacco Box

Art Deco tobacco jar in an octagonal form, veneered in richly figured wood with a herringbone pattern. The lid is crowned with a charming pewter finial in the form of a stylized dolphin, typical of the Swedish Grace era.

Signed and dated "N. 1931", and though the maker remains unidentified, the quality of the veneer work and pewter casting reveals a skilled and experienced hand.
