Still Life

A quietly confident still life by Swedish artist Eric Elfwen (1921–2008), depicting a sparse arrangement of two oysters, a glass and a lemon. Restrained yet balanced, with a limited palette that gives the work a distinctly modern sensibility. Executed in oil on board, likely dating to the 1950s–60s, presented in an antique gilt frame whose warm, aged patina echoes the lemon's yellow and creates a counterpoint to the work's sombre tones.

Condition
In good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age. The frame shows patina and age-related marks. Please note that the inner black slip frame sits slightly askew; a natural result of the antique frame's movement over time, and unnoticable from a distance.
