This pewter vase was designed by silversmith Sylvia Stave for the Stockholm firm C.G. Hallberg, and is dated 1933 according to the base markings. Its form strikes a balance between playfulness and restraint, featuring horizontal grooves encircling the neck and foot and ornate, sculptural handles, both characteristic of Stave's aesthetic.

Sylvia Stave (1908–1994) began creating pieces for Hallberg while a student at Konstfack, and would later become the firm's artistic director, a role she held from 1931 to 1939.
